ABOUT MEDA

The Miami Entertainment District Association (MEDA) is a not-for-profit business association that was formed in February of 2010.  MEDA membership is composed of nightlife businesses within Miami’s downtown Entertainment District.  The central purpose of MEDA is to promote the development and security of downtown Miami’s nightlife economy through endeavors that benefit both business and community.  MEDA members believe that business interests are best served when the interests of the community are recognized and met.  To achieve this, nightlife business must endeavor to be responsible stakeholders within the larger sphere of community.

Currently, MEDA membership includes nightlife venues (bars, nightclubs and restaurants), parking lot management companies, and ancillary nightlife businesses (i.e. twenty-four hour gas station).  The nightlife venues within the organization are diverse in both market position and size, from small bars to large nightclubs with occupancy capacities approaching two thousand persons.   Currently, a majority of the MEDA businesses are located within two of the five “Entertainment Specialty Districts” or zones that were adopted to promote nightlife business development – Park West and Media         (See Below: Entertainment Specialty District Maps).
